What is this programme about?
The Master of Science in Management (Blended) offers a broad-based curriculum that lays the foundations for young professionals to succeed in management roles in their chosen industry. The courses are taught by a world-class faculty and supported by experienced industry professionals. As the first blended programme in Asia, the blended MSc in Management combines cutting-edge educational technology with current and regionally relevant content. This part-time programme lasts 18 months and is designed with the needs of a busy professional in mind, by combining online modules with just four short campus visits to SMU. Conducted online with a blend of asynchronous and synchronous sessions, the blended MSc in Management programme will only require students to attend four on-campus segments, with each segment between three to four days.

Why did SMU decide to launch a blended MSc in Management programme?
This is part of Singapore Management University’s strategy to deliver highquality business education within the Asian context. SMU wants to enable access to its graduate education to students in Asia and specifically in the ASEAN region who cannot travel to Singapore for furthering their education. This may be due to reasons like their inability to leave their current position, the living costs in Singapore, and the desire to study part-time.

Who should take the programme?
Fresh graduates or working professionals with up to 4 years of work experience who want to pursue a postgraduate degree in business or management and continue working while furthering their education. The programme is also suitable for graduates with no prior business experience with its broad but rigorous curriculum in management.

This is the first fully blended programme of its kind delivered in Asia that leverages the advances in educational technology. Each module is carefully designed to provide a comprehensive yet interactive education while delivering the required learning objectives.

A session includes a combination of several short videos, reading material, and a series of interactive exercises developed to help you put into practice the skills acquired. The exercises extend beyond the usage of traditional multiple-choice questions, and learning tools such as word clouds, simulations and elements of gamification are included to encourage high participation and interactivity.

Despite the online nature of the programme, the platform provides a high-touch experience with our dedicated team of faculty, teaching assistants and staff ready to help where needed.

The learning analytics collected from the online exercises also enable faculty to track and measure the progress of students in real-time, thereby ensuring students get the required help and guidance at the point of need.
