What is one trait you look for in an interview candidate?
The most important thing is to assess how well the individual fits into the organisation culture. The organisation, especially a diverse one, needs to hire employees who are able to embrace diversity. This is very important for companies with global operations such as International SOS, which operates in over 70 countries. Our new hires must be able to work with different nationalities across diverse cultures. As we also have a performance-oriented culture, we seek out candidates who have a high level of energy and drive.

What is one trait you look for in an interview candidate?
Candidates who are driven and passionate about their work and future often project themselves confidently and are able to better articulate
their achievements and goals. This allows the organisation to better ascertain if the candidate is the right fit for the intended role. Importantly, it also allows the organisation to engage the candidate and find out how his/her aspirations can be supported by the organisation as well as assess if these are aligned to the growth opportunities and plans that the organisation has over the long term. Remember that organisations hire for attitude, not just aptitude. Possessing drive and passion are fundamental to demonstrating a keen and positive attitude. A track record of delivering superior results also highlights the potential that the candidate possesses for success in the organisation.

What are some of your personal traits which you think has led to your business success?
As the PwC Singapore Human Capital Partner and an Assurance Partner, the ability to multi-task and ability to assume multiple roles is pretty much a prerequisite. My strong organisational skills have helped me to plan ahead and anticipate the challenges ahead. I thrive on challenges and embracing each new challenge with enthusiasm has contributed to where I am today.
