What is the one trait that you think has led to your career success?
Having superiors who have provided growth opportunities and believed in my potential more than I did was critical. A trait I inherited from them is resilience. With adversity, I learnt that it is important to have faith that eventually you will gather sufficient resolve and experience, and succeed at what you persevere.

What do you look for in young leaders? I am strong believer of passion and that is the starting point for me when I scout for young leaders. After passion comes the ability to learn fast and quick. In today’s world, you are in a permanent state of ‘beta’ as things around you change at rapid speeds. This means that you need to have the ability to ‘unlearn’ and ‘relearn’ things even faster. Hence I look for passion and the ability to learn fast and quick in young leaders. The other trait I look for is the ability to empathize and connect with others on an emotional level. I believe this particular relationship skill should be cultivated.

Describe your leadership style.
I would say my leadership style is democratic. I value proactiveness, open communication and transparency. To ensure we work towards one common goal, I share and communicate clearly all company decisions and goals to my team. This is instrumental to increasing productivity quickly, while achieving the company’s goals. I empower my employees by entrusting them as leaders of their own job areas.
